The Sichel Trust Collection

After much deliberation and upon the advice of professionals, we have decided to turn the sale of the Sichel Trust collection over to RM Auctions. The car collection as well as memorabilia will be auctioned in Hershey, Pa., in October 2010. At that time, bids may be taken in person, by telephone, or over the Internet, and we will advise you of the process as the time grows nearer.

Your bids will be kept in mind. We will continue to inform you of developments as they arise -- and thank you for your interest in the collection.

Gerald Sichel devoted 25 years to a passion: Finding and collecting vintage automobiles that evoked memories of his youth, a passion that grew to much more, reaching back in time to locate some of the oldest and finest motor cars still available. He reached back more than a century to build this collection.

His cars, some four dozen of them, are now avaiable for collectors with a similar passion or a specific interest.

These cars run, these cars show, some are prize-winners. These cars are registered for the road in New York State and are sheltered in a dry, upstate, showroom-quality warehouse.

These cars will take you back as far as 1903 -- with a Cadillac Model A Roadster leading the lineup. There are 1904's, too -- Cadillacs and a Pierce.

The newest: A 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark I, a pearly white coupe.

There are Buicks -- 1906 touring and roadster models and more.

There is a Maxwell, 1905, a Hupmobile, 1909, a Metz roadster, 1912, a few vintage Ford T's, 1914, in truck, roadster and touring bodies, a Flanders, 1912, and a Packard 900, a 1932 that has done some service as a movie star, in the filming of Billy Bathgate. (That's a 1907 REO roadster in the collection pictured above.)

There is a hgh-riding open bus, a truck with a calliope in the back and a World War I ambulance. And in the spirit of alternative energy, there is a Stanley Steamer. 1909.
